Agency History
1889 | Where It All Began
Six generations ago, Tom Boyd wrote the first insurance policy in the Cherokee Outlet of Indian Territory. That single act of service, rooted in courage, care, and curiosity, set the foundation for a legacy focused on protecting people, businesses, and communities.
1927 | A Vision Takes Shape
Tom G. Dillingham officially founded Dillingham Insurance in Enid, Oklahoma, with a clear mission: build a business grounded in integrity, relationships, and community. From the beginning, clients were treated as partners and neighbors, a philosophy that still defines us today.
1940s–1970s | A Trusted Name
As Oklahoma grew, Dillingham grew alongside it, earning a reputation for reliability and strategic insight. When Tom B. and Dan L. Dillingham joined their father as the 2nd generation in the 1950’s, they ushered in modernization and deeper carrier and client relationships, strengthening the firm’s role as a trusted advisor.
1980s–1990s | Expanding Horizons
With the 3rd generation came fresh ideas and a renewed entrepreneurial spirit. Jed and Chad Dillingham continued expanding the firm’s footprint beyond Enid into Oklahoma City, while investing in industry specialties, technology, and professional development, elevating the client experience across the region.
2000s | Raising the Standard
Recognizing the growing connection between risk, people, and performance, The Dillingham’s recognized a growing need for more integrated solutions to their corporate clients and brought in partner Jason Willeford to begin a new chapter with their formation of Dillingham Benefits. This expansion transformed the firm into a more comprehensive advisory partner, blending insurance, risk management, and employee benefits strategy.
2010s | Integrated Growth
Dillingham unified its Commercial and Benefits divisions under a shared vision. The firm launched Dillingham HR, formalized its ELEVATE process, and welcomed in the 4th generation of new family leaders, John and Lucas Dillingham, positioning Dillingham as a modern, insight-driven consulting firm with regional reach. Working with global carrier partners to bring bespoke solutions to each clients unique needs.
2020s | Innovation with Intention
Today, Dillingham operates as an integrated consulting firm across Commercial Business Insurance, Employee Benefits, HR, Risk Management and Personal Insurance solutions. The addition of the third 4th generation family member, Price Dillingham, continues the family’s legacy of leadership and service, while expansion into Tulsa has strengthened collaboration and client partnerships across Oklahoma and throughout the United States. Innovation at Dillingham isn’t about chasing trends, it’s about using technology and insight to serve clients better, faster, and smarter.
