Company Chairman Dan Dillingham’s Great Grandfather, Tom Boyd pioneered the Dillingham Family in the insurance business in 1889 when he wrote the first policy issued in the Cherokee Outlet of the Indian Territory of Oklahoma.

Tom G. Dillingham founded Dillingham Insurance as one of Oklahoma’s first Insurance agencies with a casualty based focus.  Offices were located in the historic Bass Building from 1927 until 1962.

This was the first year the company purchased its own airplane. This provided the insurance agency with a much larger reach and quicker response time to client needs. Today, the Company continues this tradition to service client’s needs in 38 states throughout the U.S. with its two modern aircraft, with the Agency Principle’s also continuing the family tradition of being actively licensed private pilots.

Tom B Dillingham joined Dillingham Insurance in 1954 after receiving an honorable discharge of his service in the Air Force during the Korean War.  Tom graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.  Tom was instrumental in the agency’s focus on the Energy Industry. 

Dan Dillingham served in the US Army with the 3^rd Armored Division in Frankfurt Germany. Prior to this he attended the University of Colorado graduating with a degree in Finance. In 1958, Dan joined the family insurance business and has remained in that role for the past 58 years.

Offices were moved from the Bass Building to 401 West Broadway Avenue in the Liberty Federal Savings Bank Building. 

The Company Headquarters Building was constructed at 2402 West Willow in Enid.  

Jed Dillingham joined the agency in 1983 after graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Finance degree.  In the early years, Jed worked closely with Dan to service the commercial insurance clients of the agency, learning the “Dillingham Way” of Customer Service. Now, he works exclusively with our larger commercial P&C clients on customized solutions for their risk management needs.

Chad Dillingham joined Dillingham Insurance in 1990, upon graduation from The University of Kansas where he studied business communications and personnel administration. Chad completed his initial insurance industry training with Gulf Insurance Group, out of their Kansas City offices, where he trained in personal lines products, commercial lines products, claims management, risk control and safety engineering and marketing. Chad’s initial duties at Dillingham Insurance were training as an Assistant Account Manager in the Personal Insurance Division at Dillingham. Now, he works exclusively with our larger commercial P&C clients on customized solutions for their risk management needs.

Dillingham Insurance and The Martin Agency (a long-time family owned independent agency based in Enid, OK) joined to create a back office service company known as InServices, Inc. dba Dillingham-Martin Insurance that provides company contracts, day-to-day personnel, financial accounting and technology infrastructure to serve as the back office for the production team.

Dick Allen and The Dick Allen Agency becomes the first agent outside of the ownership of InServices, Inc. to utilize the InServices Producer Model.

The Dillingham’s purchase The Moran Agency and establishes its first permanent office location in in the downtown OKC area located in the historic Colcord Building.  Since that time, Dillingham Insurance’s presence has grown substantially and continues to be located in downtown Oklahoma City. 

Dillingham Benefits was created along with addition of team member Jason Willeford to provide world class group benefits offerings to clients.  This division has quickly grown into one of the firms largest segments of client services, with their specialty focus on servicing employers from 50-2000 employees.

Dan Elam joins forces with the Dillingham’s and becomes the first out-of-state agent to utilize the InServices Producer Model. 

Dillingham Benefits becomes the exclusive Oklahoma City, Partner Firm of United Benefit Advisors®.  UBA is a Partner-owned alliance of more than 140 premier independent benefit advisory firms with more than 165 offices throughout the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

John W. Dillingham joins the firm as the first of the 4^th generation. John’s focus has been in sales and service for our Group Benefits team, where he continues to add great value for his growing list of clients.

Dillingham HR was formed to provide exceptional expertise in outsourced support and consulting of human resource related services to our clients of all sizes. Under the leadership of Janet Coplen, Dillingham HR provides a variety of services to our clients, including project work, compliance, mentor/advisory services, and also as a fully outsourced human resource solution for some of our clients.

Dillingham Insurance acquires a 50% ownership interest in Rick Phillips Insurance located in Woodward, Oklahoma.  

Dan Dillingham is inducted into The Oklahoma Hall of Fame, one of the State's highest honors.

Dillingham Insurance receives the Pinnacle Award from Marsh, Berry & Company, Inc.  The award recognizes Dillingham Insurance as a top performer among its peers.

Chad Dillingham is appointed by Gov. Kevin Stitt to the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission.
